Services and Fees

The service packages described below are designed to help a student navigate the college search process. We are also happy to tailor the sessions to fit a student's needs.  Additional sessions may be needed depending on the number of applications to be submitted and when the student starts the program.

Many families choose to get an earlier start on the college process by scheduling appointments for a high school freshman or sophomore. That’s great! We recommend 1-2 sessions for freshmen and 2-3 sessions for sophomores (at the single session rate).

Senior Year package - $950

  • Three individual sessions (50 minutes each) plus small group essay writing workshop and review of six unique essay drafts via email.

  • Topics include finalizing application list, essay brainstorming and editing, preparing for admission or scholarship interviews, reviewing admission applications, and making final college selection.

  • Additional hours will be billed at rate of $180 / session.

Junior Year package - $720

  • Four sessions (50 minutes each).  We recommend that you schedule appointments approximately once every quarter.

  • Topics include schedule planning, building college list and preparing for visits, summer opportunities and developing activities, standardized testing plan, and YouScience administration and assessment.

  • Additional hours will be billed at rate of $180 / session

Single Session Rate (50 minutes) - $200

  • You pick the focus based on your student’s needs.

  • Topics could include selecting high school classes, application strategies, reviewing applications, preparing for interviews, career and college exploration, testing plan, brainstorming ideas for summer, building a college list, planning for college visits, and developing activities and résumé.

Essay Writing Workshop - $400

  • This 7-hour workshop will include sample essays, drafts, peer review and professional editing.  The workshop is led by Anna Davis and Rachelle McClintock, a local writer and tutor.  By the end of the second day, students will have a polished draft that has been edited by two professionals and can be used for many applications.  Enrollment will be limited to 12 students to ensure personal attention.

  • Summer 2020 - June 15 and 18 / July 20 and 23

  • August date - TBD
